The Wounds UK Annual Conference will be held on 14‐16 November 2016 at the Harrogate International Centre. At this year's event there will be over 17 hours of fresh clinical content, including the expansion of the popular Made Easy workshops, which will provide all delegates with a more intimate and rewarding learning environment.
Invacare and the Think Pressure Care Team will be on stand 24 in the exhibition hall at this exciting event. Annie Allsopp, Invacare’s Clinical Specialist will be on hand to answer questions and offer advice, and there will be a range of free educational resources from the Think Pressure Care knowledge bank that can be taken on the day or ordered at no charge. Invacare have sponsored one of the conference’s “Made Easy Workshops” which are designed to keep delegates up to date on latest evidence and practice. Presented by Jackie Stephen Haynes (Professor and Nurse in Tissue Viability, Birmingham City University) and Hayley Jones (Clinical Nurse Specialist Tissue Viability Medway NHS Foundation Trust), Invacare’s workshop will focus on the challenge of effective equipment selection and optimisation.
Examining the reasons why in some instances “over prescribing” exists, and to what extent, the workshop discussion will debate the rationale for equipment selection and if both hospital and community settings experience these issues, or are there differences between the two clinical settings?
The Invacare sponsored Made Easy workshop will aim to analyse the effectiveness of both equipment and its application; reviewing data obtained from prescribers on their knowledge and thought processes for deviation from equipment algorithms. The aim is, that this shared knowledge can help pave the way for other Trusts to improve their clinical and financial outcomes in the future.
