Invacare joins Superhero Series powered by Marvel for 2025

Superhero Summer Tri 2025

Invacare®, one of the Europe’s leading disability product and equipment manufacturers, will once again support the Superhero Series powered by Marvel as a key sponsor partner for 2025. This event perfectly aligns with the company’s mission of ‘Making Life’s Experiences Possible®’ as they join a prestigious list of sponsors in supporting the UK’s only mass-participation sports series dedicated to people with disabilities.

The Superhero Series is a large scale, family fun event where participants compete in a triathlon style sports event around the beautiful Dorney Lake in Windsor. The Superhero series holds two annual live events; the Superhero Tri on 16 August and Winter Wonderwheels on 7 December, plus two additional ‘At home’ virtual events, giving as many people as possible the opportunity to join in.

These are fully inclusive sports events with the emphasis on fun in doing as much as you can. The event organisers encourage participants to use any method of support required to complete their challenge. Regardless of your disability, all ‘gadgets and gizmos’ are welcomed on the course, from floats and boats to adaptive bikes and trikes. Participants can choose between flying solo or teaming up with ‘Sidekicks’ (non-disabled family and friends) to take on the unique challenges with as much or as little time and support as they need.

Mike Farrell, Managing Director at Invacare UK & Ireland commented; “We look forward to being a part of this fantastic event series again in 2025. It’s inspiring to see so many people of all ages and abilities just having a go. We are all about ‘Making Life’s Experiences Possible’ and these events do just that and align with our company ethos.”

The Superhero Series is founded and run by Paralympian, Sophia Warner, who has been involved in disability sport for more than 25 years comments:

“We are delighted to have the support of Invacare this year. They’re mission statement captures exactly what the Superhero Series is all about. We created these events especially for people with disabilities who are our everyday superheroes. It’s about fun and inclusion, people can use any type of equipment, gadgets and gizmos; can be anything from adaptive bikes, walkers, wheelchairs and powerchairs to complete the course. The series caters for like-minded people with all kinds of disabilities, where they can feel in the majority rather than the minority.”
