Invacare aims to educate at the Occupational Therapy show
In a further demonstration of their commitment to education and training, market leading manufacturer and supplier Invacare will hold two clinical seminar sessions at the UK’s largest dedicated CPD education and trade event for Occupational Therapists (OTs), which is being held at the NEC, Birmingham on 23rd & 24th November 2016.
Located in the Invacare sponsored Theatre 1 at 2.15pm on both days, the CPD certified seminars will have a clinical focus and will provide delegates with valuable education on the challenges encountered in the community.
Wednesday 23rd November will see Invacare Group Product Manager Pia Hindersson address ‘Managing posture and pressure management in personal care activities’, whilst Invacare Clinical Specialist Annie Allsopp will discuss ‘Shear- Understanding the risk and selecting the appropriate intervention’ on Thursday 24th November. Pia’s presentation will cover:
- How ageing and clinical conditions impact on postural support and pressure area care
- Continuity of care for those who require posture management during personal care
- How the use of modular, tilt in space shower chair solutions can ensure posture and pressure is managed
Annie’s presentation will cover:
- Identifying pressure ulcer risk
- Understanding the impact of shear on pressure ulcer development
- Selection of equipment based on clinical need and pressure ulcer risk
Alongside these seminars, Invacare will also have a presence in the exhibition hall on Stand F50, where the Invacare Safe Patient Handling team will be outlining the clinical benefits of their equipment.
