Equipped with an angle-adjustable seat, the REA Clematis provides a range of pressure relieving positions. When the seat tilts, the pressure areas shift between the seat and backrest.
The REA Clematis also boasts an angle adjustable backrest, which opens the hip angle for increased comfort. For improved positioning, this can be used in conjunction with the seat tilt to help stabilise posture.
High pivot points around the pelvis and knee joints is important when adjusting body posture. Matching the pivot points of the wheelchair to the natural pivot points on the body ensure that the body moves in tandem with the seat and legrests. The Rea Clematis is designed to minimize sheering and reduce body compression, resulting in improved overall posture. Crucially for comfort, the headrest and trunk supports remain at the same height whether the backrest is angled or not.
Coloured Levers: There are two coloured levers to actuate the backrest recline and seat tilt. Both levers are close to the handgrip allowing easy reach for the carer.
Backrest: The Laguna plastic backrest shell with postural cushion ensures firm support for an improved comfort and posture.
Adjustable seat depth: This wheelchair features an adjustable depth seat and longer seat cushion to accommodate all depth settings.
Hub brakes: For increased safety and control outdoors, hub brakes are an option on the self-propel model.
Seat width extension: Supplied as standard, the seat width extension on the armrests creates additional space in the seat area.
Trunk supports: For added support fixed trunk supports are available. A swing-away version is also an option.
