Invacare has given a brand new wheelchair as a prize in its competition; ‘Champion for a Champion’ in which entrants had to write who they think is the champion in their lives and why. The winning entry was Caroline Lewis who was presented with a Küschall Ultra Light wheelchair.
Winner Caroline, described how her husband is her champion for his constant and unwavering support during their lives together. Born with ‘Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita’, a condition that affects the joints and muscles from birth. Caroline’s mobility is limited and living in constant pain it makes moving around difficult, and with the added risk of falling and causing serious injury to herself.
A delighted Caroline commented: “I am beyond thrilled with my new chair. Not only does it give me the freedom to be able to keep working full time, it is very comfortable and so easy to use. For the first time in my life, I feel agile, the chair responds to the lightest touch and it is very fast! This chair is going to make life so much easier for me, being disabled does not stop me from living a full life, my Küschall chair means I can do that in comfort and style! Thank you Invacare from the bottom of my heart.”
In addition, Caroline an Employee Relations Advisor for Arriva Trains Wales has just been nominated Disability Champion and the new chair will be help support her role as a point of contact to improve accessibility.
